Hi! It's time to build a pattern parade! I'm Ben. I lead the band. Click on the animals sitting there, and show them where to stand.
―Ben the Ant introducing himself, Reader Rabbit Preschool

Ben is a red ant and is the leader of the bunch of ants. He wears a marching band hat and shoes and carries a swirling baton.

Appearance[]

When he first appeared in Reader Rabbit's Interactive Reading Journey, his skin was a darker shade of red. Since Reader Rabbit's Interactive Reading Journey 2, his skin is medium red, and is the case since that game.

Role[]

He shows up in the activity "Ben's Ant Band" in Reader Rabbit's Interactive Reading Journey, where he commands ants to eat words that match, which unlock musical instruments for them to play so they can join the band.

In Reader Rabbit's Interactive Reading Journey 2, he is the host for Ben's Rhyme Time, where he commands several ants to hold up a large sandwich consisting of ingredients that contain words that rhyme, to build delicious rhyming sandwiches for a picnic lunch.

In Reader Rabbit Preschool, Ben leads groups of animals in his own marching band, who play a mixture of horns and drums at the Pattern Parade. He wants the player to order the members by pattern relating to color and/or height.
