Cheester is one of five key members of the Pirats. His role in the crew is to carry stuff and swab the deck as directed by Captain Ratbeard.

Personality

Cheester is not a very bright rat, although sometimes he questions his orders and other times hesitates to carry them out. Sometimes he comes up with impractical suggestions for the Pirats. He is more interested in counting treasure. As revealed in his song, he has a strong desire to become smart and well-educated, hoping to impress his crewmates and he fancies himself as captain. His favorite foods are macaroni fruit, pizza, candy, apple pie, sandwiches, ice cream sundaes, and punch.

Appearance

Cheester is a chubby rat with a light-brown colored fur, wearing a shirt with sky blue and white stripes, dark blue pants and a hunk of cheese on his head. In the 2000s games, he does not wear his hunk of cheese, revealing a tuft of fur on his head, and he also has a visible bellybutton. Starting in Reader Rabbit: Learn to Read With Phonics: 1st & 2nd Grade, his nose color is changed to black. This is also the case with the other Pirats.
