For the character from the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears of the same name, see Papa Bear (Goldilocks and the Three Bears). Papa Bear is a bear who is the father of Baby Bear and a good friend to Reader Rabbit and the other Wordville critters.
Appearance[]
Papa Bear is a bear with brown fur and a lighter brown muzzle. He has a big black nose and medium-sized ears. He usually wears a white smock while working in his store. His sleepwear consists of a light purple nightshirt and nightcap. In his theater performance in Reader Rabbit 1st Grade, he wears a knight costume, consisting of a grey Medieval cuirass and a grey helmet with an orange feather.
Personality[]
Papa Bear is a helpful bear, eager to help out in any organized activities his friends plan. He sleeps a lot, but is very active when he's awake.
In the Games[]
Reader Rabbit Kindergarten[]
Papa Bear makes his debut in Reader Rabbit Kindergarten, where he is sleeping in his bed inside the Bears' den during the Get Your Bearings activity. He wakes up every other time the alarm clock is found behind the honey jars, and goes back to sleep after finding each party item for the campfire party until all of the party items from the activity are found.
Reader Rabbit 1st Grade[]
In Reader Rabbit 1st Grade, Papa Bear has his own store and is in charge of the costumes for Wordville's Really Big Show, with assistance from Baby Bear. He then costars with Babs the Beaver in the show as Sir Lunchalot.
Reader Rabbit Math Adventures Ages 6-9[]
In Reader Rabbit Math Adventures Ages 6-9, Papa Bear, along with the rest of the Wordville critters, appears in the crowd during the intro sequence, where the boat race is about to begin. He is seen as Reader Rabbit runs along the dock to enter the race and when Reader asks Sam if he's sure that his boat is worthy of racing.
Reader Rabbit: Playtime for Baby[]
In Reader Rabbit: Playtime for Baby, Papa Bear occasionally appears in the left square window of the Discovery House.
Reader Rabbit Thinking Adventures Ages 4-6[]
In Reader Rabbit Thinking Adventures Ages 4-6, Papa Bear is in charge of the toy organization and gift wrapping for Sam's birthday presents, with assistance from Baby Bear.
Learning Creations[]
In Learning Creations, Papa Bear appears in the Make a Masterpiece!/Paint a Picture! activity as a sticker, and in the Rhythm Room activity, playing the acoustic bass.
Reader Rabbit Dreamship Tales[]
A silhouette of Papa Bear appears in Reader Rabbit Dreamship Tales along with that of Baby Bear, Mat, and Pierre.
