Reader Rabbit's Math 1 (formerly titled Math Rabbit until late 1997) is a computer game in The Learning Company's Reader Rabbit series of children's educational games. It was released in 1996 as an updated version of Math Rabbit Deluxe, featuring a complete graphical overhaul. It is hosted by Math Rabbit, who has a circus. It was re-released as Reader Rabbit Math Adventures Ages 4-6 on September 28, 1998.

Activities[]

Each activity earns the player tickets. A certain number of tickets earns the player a prize at the Prize Center.

  • Calliope Counting Game - There are three levels of difficulty in this game. The player can make their own music by counting as high as they like with calliope pipes or count up to a specific number pipe after pipe, with or without clues, to create a tune.
  • Tightrope Show - There are four levels of difficulty in this game. In the first difficulty level, the player sorts objects by numbers up to 10. In the second difficulty level, the player sorts numbers by greater than/less than equations with numbers up to 99. In the third difficulty level, the player sorts addition and subtraction equations by numbers up to 10. In the fourth difficulty level, the player sorts larger addition and subtraction equations by numbers up to 15.
  • Sea Lion Show - There are four levels of difficulty in this game, each one having higher numbers the higher the level.
  • Balloon Matching Game - There are four levels of difficulty in this game. The player can match objects to numbers up to 9, addition and subtraction equations to numbers up to 18 and addition and subtraction equations that equal a number up to 18 or 99 to its corresponding number.

Trivia[]

  • Throughout the game, instrumental samples of the songs Entrance of the Gladiators, The Stars and Stripes Forever, The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze, and Over the Waves are heard.
  • Despite Reader Rabbit appearing in the 1997 version's title and cover art, he doesn't appear in the game itself. However, he does appear in Reader Rabbit Math Adventures Ages 4-6.
  • Despite the "1" in the title, there are no other math games following this game in the same fashion.
  • Before being retitled, the game used the same cover art as that of its predecesor.
  • This is the only game in the Strengthen series to be re-released as part of the Subject-based series.
  • In the 1996 version, the title screen's copyright information is placed inside the yellow box at the bottom of the screen whereas in the 1997 version, it is placed above the yellow box.
  • In the UK and foreign language versions, the title screen's copyright information is missing the copyright symbol
  • During the title sequence in the original release, Math Rabbit says "Welcome to Math Rabbit's spectacular circus of numbers", while in the updated release, he instead says "Welcome to the spectacular circus of numbers".
