Trivia[]
- This is the first game to feature Reader Rabbit in his 1997 redesign, and the first in which he wears his red and blue single stripe sweater, which stuck until the early 2000s.
- However, the cover art still features him wearing the customary red t-shirt and blue overalls, as he is seen on most other cover arts at the time.
- This game was offered by Campbell's in the late 1990s on a single CD along with Treasure Cove!, Knowledge Munchers Deluxe, and Calendar Creator.
- The crying sound effect used in the "Mom" animation is also used by Baby Kate from Arthur.
- The cover art features Mat the Mouse wearing gloves, but she does not wear them in-game.
- Although the game was released in 1997, the packing and disc art of the earlier release have a 1996 copyright. This implies that this particular version of the game was produced that year.
- The icon for this game is also used as the Autorun icon for every game that uses the Treehouse Launcher.
- The title does not appear in the version of the game from the compilation Reader Rabbit: Learn to Read With Phonics.
- Some copies of the earlier release came with a free Reader Rabbit plush toy.
- The UK Version replaces the images for the words cot, gas and can.
- When players want to quit the game in the original version, Reader Rabbit says, "Do you want to leave Reader Rabbit 1?"
- In the version from Reader Rabbit: Learn to Read With Phonics, he instead says, "Do you want to stop playing?"
- The background music for the main menu would be reused for the previews of the 2000 versions of Reader Rabbit Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade.
- Despite the UK Version being titled "Reader Rabbit's Get Ready for Reading Ages 4-6," there is no "Get Ready for Reading" counterpart aimed at children aged 6-8.
- Pop has a different shape in this game. This is also the case with Reader Rabbit's Reading 2.
- The timeframe shown on the copyright information on the UK disc starts at 1995, even though this game's predecessor (Reader Rabbit 1 Deluxe) was first released in 1994.
- This is the only game where Sam wears a green T-shirt until the 2000s.
- This is the only game where Mit wears a yellow T-shirt.
