Reader Rabbit's Reading 2 (formerly titled Reader Rabbit 2[1] until late 1997) is a video game in The Learning Company's Reader Rabbit series of children's educational games. It is an updated version of Reader Rabbit 2 Deluxe, with a graphical overhaul, as well as Mat the Mouse, her pocket friend Pop, and Ernest the Train. It was released in 1997.

Plot[]

Wordville is running out of words. Reader Rabbit and Mat travel around Wordville in Ernest to make new words to replace the missing ones and fly over town to drop them down to their friends.

Gameplay[]

The four activities work the same as they do in Reader Rabbit 2 Deluxe, but add more clickable objects and animation sequences for additional fun.

Activities[]

Trivia[]

  • At the train station, when the luggage at the bottom right corner of the screen is clicked on, Sam the Lion will pop out of the suitcase and say, "Hey, this isn't the Interactive Reading Journey! I'm in the wrong game!"
  • The icon for this game is similar to the icon for Reader Rabbit's Reading 1, but with a cyan background instead of a yellow one. Additionally, Reader's fur is purple instead of grey and his left ear is in a different position.
  • The version from Reader Rabbit: I Can Read With Phonics does not have the title.
  • Mat wears short overalls in this game instead of her usual denim dress.
  • In the original release, Reader says the game's title when it appears during the intro sequence, while in the updated release, he does not. Additionally, the cloud that the title appears in is a different shade of grey depending on the game's version.
  • Pop has the same shape he used in "Reader Rabbit's Reading 1".
  • In the Match Patch game, when Mat gets scared when she saw a bee in the idle animation, her dotted eyes become regular eyes. This is the only time we see Mat's regular eyes until the DVD Movies.
  • This is the only game in the Strengthen series to not be released in the UK.
