Reader Rabbit's Reading Development Library is a sub-series of four games in The Learning Company's Reader Rabbit series of educational video games. Each game has two interactive storybooks based on fairy tales that help children strengthen their abilities to read, write, and recognize words. The skill level of the player is determined by the number in the title. The series was aimed at children 4-8 years.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay and user interface of Reader Rabbit's Reading Development Library is similar to the Living Books series. Each game has two interactive storybooks with three story versions each: one version, named the "Classic" version, is narrated by Sam the Lion, whereas the other two versions are narrated by characters from the story from their own perspectives. The player can read the story at their own pace, in either automatic or manual modes. Each game also offers two playable activities: Story Map, where the player matches words and pictures or puts story events in order, and Express It, which allows the user to send a personalized letter to one of the story characters.
