Trivia[]

  • This is the only game in which, while having multiple levels of difficulty, the levels are not mentioned during gameplay.
  • This is the first Reader Rabbit game to have science as a subject.
  • Although the game was released in 1998, the first version's back cover, disc and title screen as well the credits have a 1997 copyright. This implies that the game was produced that year.
  • Traces of an early cover art (complete with the mid-1997 styled chalkboard logo) can be found in The Learning Company Product Catalog (1997-1998).
  • Many graphics, scenarios, and the user interface from this game would later be re-used in Reader Rabbit Thinking Adventures Ages 4-6.
  • This is the first game in which Babs the Beaver, Pierre, Papa Bear, Baby Bear, and Spike the Porcupine, who had different voice actors in the original release of Reader Rabbit Kindergarten, are voiced by Rebecca Wink, Pete Shoemaker, Sean O'Kane, Irene Trapp, and Roger L. Jackson, respectively.
    • Each voice actor also re-voiced each respective character for the second release of Reader Rabbit Kindergarten.
  • This is the second Reader Rabbit game to be developed by KnowWare, after Reader Rabbit Toddler.
    • It is also the second game to be fully 32-bit, requiring the Microsoft Win32s extension to be installed to run on Windows 3.1.
  • In some cutscenes, when the scene changes, there is a brief black screen before the scene changes. This is possibly due to the limitations of the Smacker video format in the game.
  • Some pressings of the original version are missing the logo caption in the title on the CD cover.
  • In the original version's title screen, the "st" in the game's logo is underlined.
  • On the cover, Reader Rabbit wears a red beret and is holding a megaphone, but he does not use either one in the game. The back of the original jewel case cover shows him holding a top hat and cane which he also does not use in the game.
    • However, Charlie can be seen holding a megaphone in the intro, and Reader wears the top hat on the Big Show flyer.
  • On the cover, Babs' hat is red rather than yellow.
  • In the 2000 release, the scene where Reader leaves the theatre and tells the player to sign-in is omitted, as the sign-in screen appears before the main game rather than after the intro sequence. This is also the case with other grade-based games aimed at 3 to 8 year-olds that were re-released in 2000.
  • The image on the cover of the UK Personalised version is mirrored.
  • On the original cover art, Reader has bare hands just like in-game, but on the 1999 and 2000 covers, he has white gloves.
  • Charlie's shirt doesn't have the red stripes in this game. He is also missing his whiskers.

Goofs[]

  • When the gang finds out that the supplies are gone, the blue stripes on Reader's sweatshirt are the same greyish blue color as his fur. This is fixed when he says, "Let's think."
