Reader Rabbit 2 Deluxe (stylized as Deluxe! Reader Rabbit 2) is a video game released by The Learning Company in 1994. It is a remake of Reader Rabbit 2, with a thorough graphical makeover and the inclusion of Mat the Mouse, Pop and Ernest the Train. The game was remade in 1997, having been re-titled as Reader Rabbit's Reading 2 later that same year.

Plot[]

Wordville is running out of words. Reader Rabbit, Ernest the Train and Mat the Mouse collect words to fill up Wordville by doing four different activities.

The four activities are the same as Reader Rabbit 2, but with different modes included. The player can progress through the difficulty modes to get to a higher one.

  • Word Mine - There are four levels of difficulty in this game. The player can bridge two meaningful compound words together, blend the first few letters with ending letters, blend the last few letters with beginning letters and type fitting letters to complete a word.
  • Vowel Pond - There are four levels of difficulty in this game. The player matches short vowels, long vowels, a mix of short and long vowels and short and long vowels together.
  • Match Patch - There are four levels of difficulty in this game. The player matches opposite words, homonyms, rhyming words and difficult rhymes.
  • Alphabet Dance - There are four levels of difficulty in this game. The player sorts Dancer's names in ascending order, by the first letters, by the second letters and by the first and second letters.

Trivia[]

  • This and Reader Rabbit 1 Deluxe are the only two games to have an option to delete names in the sign in menu.
  • Reader doesn't have the overalls he wears in this game on the cover art. However, he didn't wear pants or overalls in the Vowel pond game. Instead, he wore an orange lifejacket.
  • Starting with this game, Pop is now magenta instead of beige.
