Reader Rabbit 2nd Grade: Mis-cheese-ious Dreamship Adventures! is a computer game in The Learning Company's Reader Rabbit series of children's educational games. It was released in 2001 for Windows and Macintosh as the successor to the original Reader Rabbit 2nd Grade.

Plot[]

The Pirats fire cheese at the Dreamship from a cannon as Reader Rabbit flies it along with Sam the Lion, Paige and Chester. Reader attempts to transform the ship, but cheese jams the lever's gears. The ship goes haywire and crashlands on Mount Cheesemore. Reader, Sam, Paige and Chester end up in a cheese ball and land on Professor Heathormen's hovercraft. Professor Heathormen, a monkey, takes them to Mount Cheeseopolitan Island,[1] and says he will take them to Mount Cheesemore Island when they fix and 'de-cheese' his hovercraft. To do that, he needs three types of foodstuffs: macaroni fruit, blue cheese bricks, and French bread loaves. Reader and Sam observe Pirats' handiwork on the island like falling cheddar cheese chunks on a macaroni fruit farm, a tree cut down leading to difficulty in repairing a dam with blue cheese bricks and throwing French bread loaves into Fondue falls.

When Reader and Sam eventually gather enough of each item, Heathormen fixes the hovercraft and they travel to Mount Cheesemore Island. When they get there, they eavesdrop on the Pirats, who are making extra cheeseballs inside a mining cave. Suddenly, they fall into a mining cart in the cave where the cheeseballs are, and get rid of the cheeseballs on their way out. Then, they meet Billy the Kidd, a goat, and with his help get through the maze inside Mount Cheesemore's Pirat heads.

Finally, when they exit the maze, they see their Dreamship and some Pirats guarding it. The Pirats are very hungry, so Reader distracts them with their favorite foods (Vermina loves French bread, Cheester loves macaroni fruit, and Riley loves blue cheese bricks) and tries to get their Dreamship back, but the Pirats find out and try to harpoon the ship. Suddenly, a creature named Gorgonzola comes out of the ocean and captures the Pirats, and Reader, deciding to save them, transforms the Dreamship into a battleship. They attack Gorgonzola with cheeseballs until Gorgonzola's Mother calls him for lunch, after which he lets the Pirats go. The Dreamship transforms back to normal and flies away. The Pirats resume their Dreamship chase.

  • This game re-uses some music tracks from Reader Rabbit 1st Grade: Capers on Cloud Nine!.
