Reader Rabbit 3 is a video game released by The Learning Company in 1993. It is a remake of Writer Rabbit, with a thorough graphical makeover and an introduction to the new characters Orville, Wilma, Sneaker and Ed as well many other side characters.
Plot[]
Reader Rabbit gets his usual newspaper delivered at his door. As he reads it, he notices a job advert for a reporter at the Daily Skywriter. The player helps Reader Rabbit put the right information into his stories for the daily newspapers before they are distributed around Wordville.
Activities[]
The four activities share similarities to the ones in Writer Rabbit, but also incorporate four difficulty levels. In gameplay, the player plays each activity in the easiest difficulty level before moving up to the next one.
- What's the Scoop? / Who? What? When? - Similar to Ice Cream Game in Writer Rabbit. Determine correctly whether the topic of a sentence is a DID WHAT, a WHERE, a WHEN, or a WHO/WHAT. In Level 1, the player chooses a parts to match a sentence. In Level 2, the sentences is shorter. In Level 3, DID WHAT is replaced by HOW and sentences vary in size. In Level 4, WHERE is replaced by DID WHAT and WHEN is replaced by WHY.
- Clue Hounds / Get the Scoop + Crack the Case - Locate the DID WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and WHO/WHAT parts of story sentences. After completing the sentences, the player must pick a character associated with the story. In Level 1, the parts have fixed sizes. In Level 2, the parts vary in size. In Level 3, there are also HOW parts and the player has to choose all individual words that fit the part. In Level 4, there are also WHY parts.
- Sneak Peek / Rave Reviews - Choose a sentence that contains the elements WHO/WHAT, DID WHAT, WHERE and/or WHEN in the proper order. After completing the sentences, the player is rewarded with an animated cartoon that revolves around the topic. In Level 1, the player picks a proper sentence that isn't mixed up. In Level 2, the player picks one of the proper sentences. In Level 3, the element HOW is added. In Level 4, the element WHY is added and the player must also choose an appropriate sentence to finish the story.
- Ed Words / Write Right - Pick one of the blanks of a paragraph with the three elements DID WHAT, WHERE and WHO/WHEN, DO WHAT and DOES WHAT then choose a word or type your own to fill the blank. In Level 1, the player has a choice of three elements and a consistency of past and present tenses. In Level 2, the paragraphs use a mixture of past and present tenses. In Level 3, the element HOW is added. In Level 4, the element WHY is added.

Deluxe! CD-ROM Version[]
Deluxe! Reader Rabbit 3 (CD-ROM) cover
A CD-ROM version, stylized as "Deluxe! Reader Rabbit 3", was released in 1994. It uses mostly the same graphics as its floppy disk counterpart, but with some differences in letter fonts and menus. The music has been updated from the original version's Soundblaster tracks. This version also features fully voiced dialogue and digitized sounds.

Trivia[]
- This is the only game in the "Reader Rabbit" trilogy from the early-to-mid 1990s to not get a remake in 1997.
- The Learning Company Logo ID from 1994-2000 doesn't appear at the beginning of the game.
- The characters don't speak in the 1994 release of the Deluxe version.
