In the 1999 Personalized version, books after Level 1 have been repositioned and changed. All books that were set at Level 3 (Letter Lands R, C, Tr, and N) in previous versions were moved to Level 2 (Letter Lands F, D, W, and B), and all books that were set at Level 5 (Letter Lands V, L, Y, and Z) were moved to Level 3 (Letter Lands R, C, Tr, and N). The books set at Levels 4 (Letter Lands G, P, K, and Q) and 5 (Letter Lands V, L, Y, and Z) are remade stories from the books set at Levels 2 (Letter Lands F, D, W, and B) and 3 (Letter Lands R, C, Tr, and N) from previous versions, respectively, containing different special words. Additionally, the books in this version are not numbered, unlike in previous versions.

Trivia[]
- Although the cover art shows Reader in his usual red and blue striped sweatshirt from the late 1990s, his in-game appearance remains unchanged from that in previous versions, even in the Personalized version. Additionally, Mat is not wearing her tail bow on the cover art but her in-game appearance also remains unchanged.
- The cover art for this version of the game depicts Reader and Mat on a raft on a river surrounded by books, rather than Reader and Sam walking along a path like in previous versions.
- The UK version remains unchanged from Reader Rabbit's Interactive Reading Journey, using the original title in-game.
- The "Interactive Reading Journey (1)" logo from previous versions of the game was removed from the map screen in this version, but is kept in the UK version.
- In the Personalized version of the game, the unique voice clips from the Pop menu and exit screen are replaced by those of Reader Rabbit.
- The Personalized version of the game uses the same 512x384 screen resolution as in previous versions, but it is surrounded by a black background to fit the new standard 640x480 resolution for the time.
- Additionally, the original title sequence is replaced by the "flying chalkboard" title sequence from the late 1990s, in full 640x480 resolution, and transitions directly to the first opening sequence in an orange screen flash.
- On the cover of the GSP re-release of the game in the UK, Reader's head is depicted in his 2001 design, re-used from the cover of Reader Rabbit Kindergarten: Bounce Down in Balloon Town!.
- In the UK version when Sam starts crying after he says he has no kingdom, castle and crown, the audio from his US actor from the 1990’s is still used.
- The Personalized autorun screen has the word "Ages" in all capital letters.
Goofs[]
- Although the original release's disc art refers to this game as Version 3.0, the title screen refers to it as Version 2.1
